With the goal of strengthening collaboration among researchers of its seven research units, IN2PAST has established a funding support program for collective exploratory projects. These projects are intended to generate new research hypotheses, leading to the preparation of future applications for competitive international and national funding.

Projects should align with one or more of the five IN2PAST’S Thematic Lines (TL). More information here (in Portuguese).

The research team on each project must have a designated lead researcher (Principal Investigator), who must be a fully integrated researcher holding a PhD from one of the research units of IN2PAST: HERCULES, CHAIA, IHC, CESEM, IHA, CRIA or LAB2PT.

Teams can consist of four to ten members, with the necessary condition that there must be integrated PhD researchers from three of the research units of IN2PAST. Principal Investigators must ensure that team members fulfil all FCT requirements to holding the status of integrated researchers.

Applications must be submitted by 11:59 PM on April 10, 2023, and should be sent via email to: in2past@fcsh.unl.pt

The funding support for each project will range from €8,000 to a maximum of €10,000 (when adequately justified), with the intention of supporting between three and five projects in this competition.
