‘Oil cultures and heritage cultures: intersections, impacts and contemporary legacies’ is the title of the 2024 ‘Raúl Iturra Annual Conference’, by CRIA/ IN2PAST researcher Nélia Dias, which opens the World Anthropology Day 2024 & European Anthropology Days on February 22nd, at 6 pm, in the National Museum of Natural History and Science of Universidade de Lisboa, in Lisbon.

Co-organized by the Museum and the Portuguese Anthropology Association (APA – Associação Portuguesa de Antropologia), within the scope of project PITCH, and in association with CRIA, ICS-ULisboa, EASA, the Portuguese National Museum of Ethnology, CIAS and Asociación Galega de Antropoloxía (Agantro), the event will also host the APA Awards 2023 Ceremony and the ‘Anthropology Party’ (Festa da Antropologia), with DJ Lucky.

World Anthropology Day was established by the American Anthropological Association in the beginning of the 20th century and is usually observed on the third Thursday of February.
