The embroidery in the image below was brought by Ana Pérez-Quiroga’s mother when she returned to Spain, after 20 years of exile in the former USSR due to the Spanish Civil War. It is the motto for the fourth session of the ‘IN2PAST PhD Talks‘ series, where the CHAIA – University of Évora researcher will present ‘Everyday objects: historical memory, post-memory and artistic intervention. The children of the Spanish Civil War who took refuge in the USSR’.
The conversation will take place on February 6th, at 5 pm, in NOVA FCSH Av. Berna, Lisbon (Auditorium B2), with discussion by researchers Afonso Ramos (IHA – NOVA FCSH) and Arturo Zoffmann Rodriguez (IHC – NOVA FCSH). Admittance is free and everyone is welcome. If you cannot be present, access via Zoom is provided; we only ask you to register with your name and email address.
