The 4th National Meeting of IN2PAST Researchers will take place in Lisbon on February 1st and 2nd, at NOVA FCSH, Av. de Berna.
In line with the transdisciplinary vocation of our Associate Laboratory, the National Meetings promote the intersection of diverse scientific knowledge and the dialogue between different practices for learning about the past. They are also a unique opportunity for integrated PhD researchers and doctoral students from the seven research units (RUs) that make up IN2PAST to get to know each other and find new ways of collaborating.
The preliminary programme for the 4th Meeting can be downloaded here. The meeting starts with the parallel sessions for presentations from the five Thematic Lines, on the morning of February 1st. Presentation of the results of the five exploratory projects that won the 1st edition of IN2PAST’s call for funding happens in the afternoon, while the six grantees of the 2nd edition will show their findings on Friday morning.
On Thursday evening, we welcome Dace Dzenovska (Oxford University, ERC Consolidator Grant) for a public lecture named ‘The Place and Space of Emptiness: Experiments in Ethnographic Comparison’. And on Friday morning we welcome Antonio Florence (founder and president of the Institute Hercule Florence) for the screening of a short documentary on a project around naturalist, draughtsman and photography pioneer Hercule Florence. Before the screening, IN2PAST PhD candidates will present doctoral projects supported by DGPC/FCT.
On the afternoon of February the 2nd, the Scientific Council Plenary will be held, attended by all the integrated PhD researchers from IN2PAST’s seven RUs.
