The deadline for submitting abstracts for the VI Seminário AEAULP – ‘Arquipélagos em Diálogo’ (6th AEAULP Seminar – ‘Archipelagos in Dialogue’), which will take place in Cape Verde (Mindelo and Cidade de Praia) from December 1st to December 5th, 2025, has been extended until February 17th, 2025.
This international meeting, which brings together institutions, teachers and Architecture students from the Portuguese-speaking world, aims to foster Architecture’s scientific exchange across a broad spectrum of themes, scales and geographies, with the goal of re-establishing the free circulation of ideas and building a critical mass (research, document production, practical experimentation) based on cultural and geographical diversity, particularly in the Portuguese-speaking world, inclusive of all modes of expression in the global theme of the project.
Lab2PT – University of Minhho / IN2PAST researchers Bruno Figueiredo, Ivo Pereira de Oliveira and João Cabeleira are on the seminar’s Scientific Committee.
The seminar’s central theme is the intrinsic relationship between spoken and written language and architecture, understood as constitutive systems that shape identity and collective memory, and influence the way we think, communicate and live – especially relevant in the Portuguese-speaking context, where these cultural expressions continually reinvent and adapt themselves in a dialogue established between the local and the global.
