On January 22nd, at 5 pm, the Rectory of the University of Minho, in Braga, hosts a meeting organised by IN2PAST – Associate Laboratory for Research and Innovation in Heritage, Arts, Sustainability and Territory, as part of its 5th National Meeting of Researchers, with the aim of promoting closer contact with civil society, namely with regional and national institutions of reference in the fields of Heritage, Arts, Culture, Territory and Sustainability, both public and private, with a view to establishing future partnerships for scientific projects and consultancies.
With the presence of the vice-rector for Culture and Territory, Joana Aguiar e Silva, and the vice-rector for Research and Innovation, Eugénio Campos Ferreira, this public session, more than presenting IN2PAST, aims to hear from representatives of the institutions about their specific needs, in order to mobilise partnerships in the interaction between technicians and researchers.
Representatives from the Comissão de Coordenação e Desenvolvimento Regional do Norte – CCDR Norte (Northern Regional Coordination and Development Commission),
Centro de Investigación Interuniversitario das Paisaxes Atlánticas Culturais (CISPAC), the Consello da Cultura Galega (Galician Culture Council) and the Instituto de Ciencias del Patrimonio – Incipit-CSIC have already confirmed their participation, as well as local representatives from intermunicipal and municipal communities, directors and technicians from archives, libraries, museums and other public and private institutions.
Taking place in the Sala dos Arcos at the Rectory (Largo do Paço, 4704-553 Braga), the meeting will be attended by the president of IN2PAST’s Board of Directors, António Candeias, vice-president Fátima Moura Ferreira, the coordinators of the associate laboratory’s five thematic lines, and other researchers taking part in the 5th National Meeting. The 5th National Meeting ends on Saturday, January 25th, with IN2PAST’s 3rd Field Trip, which will take place in the village of Extremo, Arcos de Valdevez, a living laboratory where researchers and the local community have been meeting for the last seven years to study the landscape and promote the sustainability of this area’s heritage.
