‘The challenges of patrimonialization in the era of reconciliation in Angola: a visual itinerary through the divergent spaces of social memory’ is a virtual journey proposed by CRIA – Iscte / IN2PAST researcher Ruy Blanes, based on his research conducted in Angola, focusing on political violence, memory and reconciliation.

Presented in the context of World Heritage Day 2024 (DIMS’24 – Dia Internacional dos Monumentos e Sítios), it intends to foster the debate regarding patrimonialization, justice and human rights, through an online tour of places of memory of violence and patrimonialization in Angola, from São Nicolau to the Casa de Reclusão Militar, the São Paulo Prison or the São Miguel Fort, among others.

World Heritage Day is celebrated annually on April 18th. Learn more about this activity on CRIA’s website and visit the digital exhibit Ruy prepared for you.
