Sofia Salema (CHAIA – University of Évora) is the new elected president of the Board of IN2PAST, with Alexandra Esteves (Lab2PT – University of Minho) and Rita Luís (IHC – NOVA FCSH) as vice-presidents. António Candeias (HERCULES – UÉvora), still president of the Board until the newly elected members take office, will preside over the Scientific Council in the next three years.
The Supervisory Board will consist of Fátima Nunes (IHC – UÉvora), Joana Sequeira (Lab2PT – UMinho) and Inês Lourenço (CRIA – Iscte). The Ethics Committee will be composed of Milene Gil (HERCULES – UÉvora), Elisabete Pereira (IHC – UÉvora), Alberto Medina de Seiça (CESEM – NOVA FCSH), Cristina Pratas Cruzeiro (IHA – NOVA FCSH) and Francisca Alves Cardoso (CRIA – NOVA FCSH).
Elected substitutes for the new all-women Presidency of the Board are Afonso Dias Ramos (IHA – NOVA FCSH), João Mineiro (CRIA – Iscte) and Pedro Moreira (CESEM – UÉvora).
Besides the three elected members, the full Plenary of the Board also sits the coordinators of the research units (RUs) which make up IN2PAST, or a PhD researcher appointed by them. The Board’s Executive Committee consists of the president, vice-presidents, another member of the Board Plenary and IN2PAST’s administrator.
Of the 496 PhD researchers in the election register, a total of 75 voted in the December 15 election, in Braga, Évora, Guimarães and Lisbon, as stated in the Results Verification Minutes.
