António Candeias (HERCULES – University of Évora), president of the Board of IN2PAST between 2022 and 2025, is the new president of the Scientific Council. In the elections held on 15 December 2025 for governing and non-governing bodies of the associate laboratory, the ‘integrated’ PhD researchers from the seven research centres which make up the consortium, also chose Sofia Salema (CHAIA – UÉvora) as the new president of the Board, with Alexandra Esteves (Lab2PT – University of Minho) and Rita Luís (IHC – NOVA FCSH) as vice-presidents.
Also in office for the next three years, Fátima Nunes (IHC – UÉvora) will preside over the Supervisory Board, the body responsible for monitoring the execution of the plan of activities and budget, with the help of Joana Sequeira (Lab2PT – UMinho) and Inês Lourenço (CRIA – Iscte).
Milene Gil (HERCULES – UÉvora) will chair the Ethics Committee, also composed of Elisabete Pereira (IHC – UÉvora), Alberto Medina de Seiça (CESEM – NOVA FCSH), Cristina Pratas Cruzeiro (IHA – NOVA FCSH) and Francisca Alves Cardoso (CRIA – NOVA FCSH). The Ethics Committee pronounces itself and intervenes in issues relating to interpersonal relationships in research contexts, and advises researchers facing dilemmas in matters relating to research ethics.
IN2PAST’s Board Plenary shall be composed of 10 members in total, also sitting, besides the elected president and vice-presidents, the representatives appointed by the seven research centres which compose the Associate Laboratory for Research and innovation in Heritage, Arts, Sustainability and Territory.
