UNIVERSITY OF MINHO, GUALTAR CAMPUS, BRAGA, ICS Conference Room

Within the framework of the research carried out over the last seven years in the Extremo site (Arcos de Valdevez) by the Archaeology Unit at the University of Minho and Lab2PT, it has been possible to establish strong cooperation networks with the local community which have translated into a series of scientific, heritage and educational activities coordinated between scientists and local agents.

In 2023, our exploratory project ‘From Land to Earth. Connections for Sustainable Territories (Land-CST)’ was approved by IN2PAST. Its objectives include the development of methodological tools for the study of the landscape, in collaboration with the local community, with the goal of transferring the generated knowledge for the benefit of the heritage sustainability of this territory, affected by emigration, depopulation and population ageing.
