Registration is now open, until October 14th, 2024, for the 5th National Meeting of IN2PAST Researchers, taking place in Braga between January 22nd – 25th, 2025. The preliminary agenda below will be updated soon.

IN2PAST Researchers’ National Meetings aim to promote the intersection of different scientific knowledge and the dialogue between practices of preservation, knowledge and configuration of the past, providing a forum of reference and excellence for sharing the research carried out within the framework of the Associate Laboratory’s five thematic lines (TL):
TL1 | Science and Technology for Cultural Heritage
TL 2 | Landscape, Territories and Cultural Heritage
TL 3 | Museums, Monuments and their Collections
TL 4 | Archives, from Preventive Preservation to Digitisation
TL 5 | Cultural Transfers, Public Memory Policies and Inclusive Citizenship
They are also a privileged space for building new forms of research and innovation, as well as for boosting knowledge and collaborations between the researchers who make up IN2PAST, from its seven research units (RUs).

The 5th National Meeting of IN2PAST Researchers is designed according to this matrix and with the goal of contributing to the consolidation of the Associate Laboratory’s (AL) identity, as reflected in its programme agenda:
January 22nd | 5 pm
Public session organised by the TL coordinators with representatives of leading national and regional institutions in the fields of Heritage, Arts and Culture
January 23rd and 24th | 9 am – 7 pm
Plenary Communications Sessions (no parallel sessions) + Poster Presentations + Meeting of IN2PAST’s Scientific Council, where all the LA’s integrated/PhD researchers are represented
January 25th | 10 am – 4 pm
Visit to Extremo (Arcos de Valdevez) and community lunch, as part of IN2PAST’s 2024/2025 Field Trips programme
We invite both integrated/PhD researchers and PhD students from the seven RUs that make up IN2PAST – CESEM, CHAIA, CRIA, HERCULES, IHC, IHA e Lab2PT – to submit individual or collective proposals for communications and/or posters regarding ongoing research projects that fall within the scope and objectives of one or more of IN2PAST’s thematic lines mentioned above and which can be checked at https://in2past.org/thematic-lines/.

Oral presentations at the Meeting are in person. Authors of approved posters must also be researchers participating in the meeting.
The notice and agenda for the Plenary Meeting of IN2PAST’s Scientific Council will be sent to all integrated/PhD researchers in due time.
IN2PAST will cover travel and accommodation costs for its researchers taking part in the 5th Meeting who are not affiliated to the University of Minho.
