Frederico Ágoas (CICS.NOVA – NOVA FCSH) and José Neves (IHC – NOVA FCSH / IN2PAST)
The aim is to offer, on the one hand, a synthesised view of the perspectives from various scientific and social disciplines on the revolutionary process and, on the other, to understand how the contemporary development of disciplines such as Sociology, Geography, Anthropology, Political Science and History was marked by the ‘April years’ and intersects with the cycles of dictatorship and democracy of the 20th century in Portugal.
The seminar ‘As Ciências Sociais e o 25 de Abril: Revolução, Conhecimento e História em Portugal’ takes place at the Auditorium of the National Library of
Portugal (Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal) on May 12th, between 10 am and 4:30 pm. Admission is free. The seminar will be held in Portuguese.
