the idea of heritage\u2019, held yesterday, May 19th, in \u00c9vora, as part of <a href=\"https:\/\/festivalimaterial.pt\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Festival Imaterial<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/in2past.org\/events\/in2past-phd-talks-between-november-2023-and-june-2024-in-evora-lisbon-and-minho\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u2018IN2PAST PhD Talks\u2019 Series<\/a> and our <a href=\"https:\/\/in2past.org\/news\/in2future-boot-camp-towards-an-ecology-of-heritage-practices\/\">In2Future Boot Camp<\/a>\u00a0doctoral school, which takes place in \u00c9vora until the 24th, in partnership with <span class=\"HwtZe\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"jCAhz ChMk0b\"><span class=\"ryNqvb\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.evora2027.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00c9vora 27 \u2013 European Capital of Culture.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p><p>The preconceptions, and prejudices, on which our ideas about musical heritage are based, the battle worth waging for (cultural) memory if we want an open, inclusive and plural society, the future that we can give to the past (and the present), and the need for greater debate on these issues between researchers, musicians and society were some of the aspects that permeated the speech by the CESEM \u2013 NOVA FCSH \/ IN2PAST researcher.<\/p><p>The lecture was introduced\u00a0 and discussed by <span class=\"OYPEnA text-decoration-none text-strikethrough-none\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cienciavitae.pt\/portal\/611E-A6D8-9186\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ana Telles B\u00e9reau<\/a><\/span>, CESEM \u2013 University of \u00c9vora \/ IN2PAST researcher, who asked Paulo if classical music is going extinct, and if we are doing a good job in terms of musical education, and of safeguarding musical heritage, thus launching the debate with the audience present at Teatro Garcia de Resende.<\/p><p>IN2PAST co-organises <a href=\"https:\/\/in2past.org\/events\/in2past-organises-three-talks-at-festival-imaterial\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two other talks @ Imaterial<\/a>, on May 22nd and 24th.
