The International Conference on Innovation in Art Research and Technology (InArt2026) will take place from 7 to 11 September 2026 in Funchal, Madeira (Portugal).<\/p>

InART2026<\/a> focuses on creating a platform for knowledge sharing across different fields of science and technologies applied to the characterisation, conservation and preservation of global cultural heritage.<\/p>

In this way, participants from diverse fields within humanities and natural sciences are invited to join and create an interdisciplinary discussion \u2013 a vital ingredient for innovation \u2013 about cultural heritage preservation in the academic fields of archaeological objects, artworks, built heritage, and more.<\/p>

If you work in and\/or are interested in topics such as archives, collections, sustainable conservation and restoration solutions, digital technologies or application and development of analytical techniques for the diagnosis and study of heritage, this biennial and international conference is for you.<\/p>

    The Conference is organized by Laborat\u00f3rio HERCULES<\/a>, Dire\u00e7\u00e3o Regional de Cultura da Madeira<\/a>, Ghent University<\/a> and has as its Chairs Ant\u00f3nio Candeias<\/a> (Laborat\u00f3rio H\u00c9RCULES – U\u00c9vora \/ IN2PAST), Sara Valadas<\/a> (Laborat\u00f3rio H\u00c9RCULES – U\u00c9vora \/ IN2PAST) and Peter Vandenabeele (Ghent University).<\/p>

    All accepted submissions will be included in the conference\u2019s Book of Abstracts.<\/p>

    Each author is required to submit one photograph that represents their project along with the text.
