The exhibition Double Void, by Paulo Catrica<\/a> e Sebastiano Raimondo<\/a>, featuring drawings by the architect Rui Mendes<\/a>, will run until 18 April in Space Zero<\/a> gallery, in Lisbon.<\/p>

The exhibition results from the work carried out as part of the IN2PAST exploratory project \u201cFilling a double void. A critical and mnemonic reading of the new town of Santo Andr\u00e9 1971\u20132021<\/a>\u201d, led by Paulo Catrica (IHC \u2013 NOVA FCSH \/ IN2PAST).<\/p>

Este projeto pretende estimular uma revis\u00e3o cr\u00edtica e mnem\u00f3nica da cidade de Vila Nova de Santo Andr\u00e9 atrav\u00e9s de um conjunto de iniciativas multidisciplinares, cruzando a hist\u00f3ria da matriz ideol\u00f3gica da arquitetura e do urbanismo com a hist\u00f3ria oral, a fotografia e a antropologia<\/a>. Part of the Sines industrial project, devised by Marcelo Caetano\u2019s government in the years leading up to \u201925 de Abril\u2019, it was largely carried out after the revolution, with construction suffering from constant setbacks and hesitations in terms of economic and political guidelines. A unique case in Portugal of an urban project for a new city, fifty years after the beginning of Santo Andr\u00e9\u2019s construction we are faced with the absence of any academic research able to promote a critical view and discussion of this work.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
