Investigadora no Instituto de Hist\u00f3ria da Arte (<a href=\"https:\/\/institutodehistoriadaarte.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IHA<\/a>) \u2013 NOVA FCSH \/ IN2PAST, dirige o Centro de Estudos e Documenta\u00e7\u00e3o Almada Negreiros \u2013 Sarah Affonso <a href=\"https:\/\/almadanegreirossarahaffonso.fcsh.unl.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(CEDANSA)<\/a> , \u00e9 respons\u00e1vel pela conce\u00e7\u00e3o dos conte\u00fados e pela coordena\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica do <a href=\"https:\/\/muraisalmadagaresmaritimas.pt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Centro Interpretativo Murais de Almada nas Gares Mar\u00edtimas<\/a>, que <a href=\"https:\/\/in2past.org\/pt\/news\/almada-murals-interpretation-centre-opens-to-the-public\/\">abriu ao p\u00fablico<\/a> em abril de 2025.<\/p><p>\"\u00c9 muito significativo que, na Rocha [do Conde d'\u00d3bidos], Almada pinte aquelas varinas africanas <em>varinas<\/em> e as ponha no centro de um dos tr\u00edpticos. E f\u00e1-lo numa linguagem muito gr\u00e1fica, com elementos cubistas e p\u00f3s-cubistas, que est\u00e1 muito longe do neog\u00f3tico a que a encomenda p\u00fablica do Estado Novo estava habituada\", explica a investigadora.<\/p><p>Num <a href=\"https:\/\/www.publico.pt\/2025\/12\/24\/culturaipsilon\/noticia\/restauro-murais-almada-negreiros-comecou-varinas-africanas-vai-chegar-nau-catrineta-2159145\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">artigo<\/a> de Lucinda Canelas (texto) e Rui Gaud\u00eancio (fotografia), em destaque na primeira p\u00e1gina da edi\u00e7\u00e3o de 24 de dezembro, Mariana Pinto dos Santos sublinha ainda que Almada Negreiros transforma \"uma varina negra <em>varina<\/em> num monumento\" e que \"n\u00e3o h\u00e1 outra obra deste per\u00edodo em que o corpo negro seja tratado com tanta dignidade, nem com tanto protagonismo\".<\/p><p>Na Gare Mar\u00edtima de Alc\u00e2ntara, onde deve agora come\u00e7ar a interven\u00e7\u00e3o de restauro, os murais de Almada s\u00e3o menos obviamente subversivos, mas ainda assim confrontacionais e insubordinados.
