Foi ela quem primeiro concebeu <em>\"Collections, Exhibitions and Museums in Portugal and its Empire\"<\/em> em 2016 \u2018como um desafio a ideias cristalizadas que ainda dominam a historiografia da arte em Portugal\u2019, como \u2018a rela\u00e7\u00e3o bin\u00e1ria entre centro e periferia, em que Portugal \u00e9 colocado neste \u00faltimo contexto\u2019, \u2018a persist\u00eancia de uma historiografia tradicional da arte em Portugal que tende a interpretar as obras atribuindo-lhes r\u00f3tulos estil\u00edsticos (...)\u2019 ou \u2018a dicotomia entre \u201cartes altas\u201d e \u201cartes baixas\u2019\u201d, entre outras.<\/p><p>\u2018Este volume segue a investiga\u00e7\u00e3o inovadora de Foteini Vlachou, que defendeu um estudo da produ\u00e7\u00e3o, cole\u00e7\u00e3o e rece\u00e7\u00e3o de arte, historicamente inscrito\u201d, dizem-nos tamb\u00e9m os co-editores na Introdu\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p><p>Esta aguardada edi\u00e7\u00e3o \u2018abre novas vias de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o para futuros especialistas interessados em produzir conhecimento sobre Portugal e o seu patrim\u00f3nio\u2019, afirma Alicia Miguel\u00e9z (IEM).<\/p><p>\u2018Centrando-se no per\u00edodo entre o in\u00edcio do s\u00e9culo XVIII e o final do s\u00e9culo XX, este volume editado examina as hist\u00f3rias de objectos, museus, exposi\u00e7\u00f5es e colec\u00e7\u00f5es em Portugal ou fora de Portugal, mas que representam Portugal ou com ele se relacionam atrav\u00e9s de rela\u00e7\u00f5es coloniais\u2019, diz a nota da editora. <a
